Last week of 2018!!

What's on for next week:


Tuesday:
* First Transition for next year
* Wet and wild (Bring your togs and anything to wet people with, no water balloons please)
* 2018 Progress report & goal setting time for 2019 sent home

Wednesday:
* Transition No. 2

Thursday:
* Afternoon End of year Prize Giving 1:30
* Evening Prize Giving 6pm

Friday:
* Tūhura's Teddy bear Picnic. Children to bring some food to share for a morning tea. This is the end of term Gem Jar reward.

We would just like to put out a huge thank you to everyone for supporting us this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed building strong whānaungatanga (relationships) within Tūhura and you have all be a huge part in making this happen.

Thank you for coming to us when your concerns, thank you for coming to us with praise, but most of all, thank you for allowing your tamariki to be who they are!

Week 8

Production week is finally here!

Missing: Blue Jacket with gold stars. Please let us know if you have seen this. It's been missing since just before camp.

So what is happening this week:

  • Monday and Tuesday we will be at Ohoka school. On Monday a bus will transport everyone down to Ohoka and then back to school ready for end of day pick-up. On Tuesday, as stated in the information that you have already been emailed, you will need to drop your child to Ohoka Sports and Events Centre, which is next to the school on Jackson's road, by 9am. We have a bus that will return students back to school for end of day pick-up.
  • Fish n' Chips on Thursday, this need to be ordered online.
  • We will start swimming from Wednesday, so please make sure your child has their NAMED togs and towel here each day.
  • 'Spud in a Bucket' need to be dropped off to school on Wednesday for judging. Please bring them down to the garden area outside Tūhura.
  • If your child is in a year 4 and they have not returned their camp form for next year, please have this to Mrs G. by Monday.

Mathletics info

Mathletics will continue next year. We strongly believe it's a great programme for every child to be involve in and the activities align with what we focus on during class.

Week 6

Hope you all have a enjoyable long weekend.

What's happening this week:

  • All  the rest of the pet and garden project's due on Monday 19 November.
  • Lamb, Calves and Pony judging this coming Friday 23rd, you will receive more information early next week if this involves you.
  • Production practise is well underway, everyone is busy learning their parts, so it is important that all students are at school
  • Assembly this Friday, Tūhura are performing.
  • We still have five year 4 students that need to finish their STEPPING STONES. The deadline for presenting them has gone, but if they forgot to bring them in they have until 9am on Monday to do so.

WEEK 5

We had a fantastic time away on camp last week and we're sure that you've heard all about it!






What's on this week:

Wednesday- NZEI union Teacher Strike. Please note that the school will be closed 

Thursday
- Skate School for PE. A notice went out for this 2 weeks ago. If you have given permission for your child to participate, the notice and $8 is to be handed in to the office. This was due last week.
-Subway: Please order via KINDO

Week 4 - CAMP WEEK!!

Camp Week:

NEXT WEEK:

School Photos- Monday

If you haven't handed in the form to get the sibling photos, don't panic! The photographers will pick the forms up when they arrive on Monday. If you have lost the notice, just write on a note who the children are and the teams they are in and give it to Kathryn.

Calendar Art 
There will be a new system to order these this year. All of the calendar art will be collected and taken to the printers, They will scan it and put it up for you to see. A site link will be sent out sometime next week.

All orders will be done online and not through the school.

Stepping Stones - Due Thursday 15 November
This is for all year 4 students. There are some that have not completed their Stepping Stones for the year, they know who they are, so ask your child if you are unsure. These are due Thursday 15th November and this is the final cut off date for presenting.

  • PJ’s
  • Toiletries
  • Soft toy (optional)
  • Bath towel
  • Plastic bags for wet/dirty gear
  • Insect repellent
  • WATERPROOF raincoat
  • Warm polar fleece or woollen jumper
  • T-Shirts / sweatshirts
  • Shorts / trackpants
  • Socks and undies
  • Thermals / Polypros (it will still get very cold at night)
  • WARM hat (Beanie)
  • Sunhat
  • Sunscreen / sunglasses
  • Sneakers / Boots for walking
  • Togs, extra towel for swimming pool visits
  • Torch (optional)
  • Daypack with lunch for Day 1 in lunch box
  • Water bottle – for use on walks and other strenuous physical activities


NOT PERMITTED:
  • Money
  • Jewellery
  • Extra food or lollies of any kind. If found these will be confiscated.
  • Devices



Please Note: Unless items are named we are unable to ensure they will return from camp.
We will not be taking an school sunblock as many children seem to have allergies, so please
make sure your child has a names bottle of their own sunblock.

We have had a busy week with Athletics and 'Choose to be talented' happening today.
